Seek "Excelsior" by Balfe on Piano Roll
By Peter Clarke

Dear all, I wonder if anyone knows whether Excelsior (by Balfe) has
ever appeared on an 88-note piano roll? I realise that if it did, it
would be more the Victorian parlour piece, rather than the thunderous,
but wonderful version that used to be played occasionally on White's
98-key Gavioli. Very often played on a Sunday, it was always during
the late John Nixon's "Hymns and Sacred Music" session at mid-day.

If it ever was issued, I would be most grateful for the roll details,
if anyone has that information to hand.

Best regards,
Peter Clarke
