As a new and respectful arrival to this world, I have a question that I
hope is not too off-putting. I've just purchased a 1925 Mason & Hamlin
with Ampico player, and it all seems to function quite marvelously.
However, the drawer-in-the-knees situation is a real drag. A shoulder
injury makes it particularly difficult for me to sit so far from the
keyboard, or sit at a height low enough to get my knees under the thing
and still comfortably play.
While I loathe the thought of modifying the piano in any way, I was
wondering if anyone has hit on a solution that can work to make the
piano more playable. Thanks!
