Art Reblitz asked in 141008 MMDigest if anyone has ever seen a U.S.
Music Co. 88-note piano roll with square holes. Below is a list of
the United States Music Co. player piano rolls that I have. The
first column is the roll number. The second column is the punch
shape. The third is the title. The fourth may be a possible date
code. All rolls are perforated with a round punch except 44416,
which is uses a square or rectangular punch. I have attached images
of the box and roll label, the punch pattern, and the box.
This leads to other questions. If you can make out the embossing
on the roll box cover, which appears to be original, it says "Look
for the Bird", with a bird perched on a capital letter V. Is this
a Vocalstyle box? Who cut the "Blue Bird" rolls? Was it QRS?
I hope this is of some help.
