Hello All, I'm writing in response to Tony Missio's post regarding
a qualified repair specialist for antique musical boxes near Ottawa,
Ontario, Canada. My name is Darren Wallace and I reside in Woodstock,
Ontario, Canada. I have been restoring antique musical boxes for
almost 30 years. I specialize in all aspects of restoration work to
antique disc or cylinder musical boxes and antique wind up phonographs.
I am a licenced tool and die machinist with my own machine shop, and
have a musical background of 35 years with piano, upright and electric
bass, and violin. I have restored literally hundreds of antique
musical boxes for collectors, museums, and specialty dealers worldwide.
I do all my own comb repairs and can make, fabricate and machine any
and all parts and components. All types of gears are a specialty of
mine. References are available.
As a side note, I am also a pre-1915 horseless carriage brass-era
antique car enthusiast and own a 1915 model T Ford, and a 1905
2-cylinder Queen automobile.
Please let me know if you would like to discuss any restoration
project, big or small. You can see my restoration work I've done
for many others, and for my own collection on YouTube:
