Hi Ira, An overture box has to have a cylinder of three or more inches
in diameter and must play three to four operatic overtures. (There
are other definitions, but that is an accepted one). If your cylinder
plays 1 minute 50 seconds, and in that time plays two tunes each of
about 52+ seconds, then you have what is called a "Two-Per-Turn" box.
While the cylinder will be 3+ inches in diameter, the fact that it
plays two tunes per turn negates it being an overture box. These boxes
came in both keywind and lever wind formats.
