HI all, I'm finally looking over my Acoustigrande Welte; one thing it
never came with was the cord. I took the receptacle off the piano --
amazingly, the blades are on the piano, so the cord has the "safe" end
on it -- if I can just find a female cord end, 1-5/8" diameter with the
slots in line with each other, I can make a new power cord.
Yes, it won't be grounded, but the only thing I could ground is the
motor case, as nothing else but the on/off switch has electrical
conductivity (am I describing this correctly?). If I'm wrong about
this let me know!
I am also noticing that my motor pulley appears to be made of wood;
is this correct? The more I look at this piano, the more I do believe
I am the first to "break into" it. The previous owner said the belly
cloth was intact, but her cat clawed it open, so she tore it off and
tossed it. Some of the cloth and snaps remain still.
This will be a long-term project, so I have plenty of time to
search this stuff out, but you know how it is, sitting in the shop,
whispering, "Come work on me, forget that income-producing stuff!" :)
