FS Free: 26-note Key Frame for 16-inch Barrel
By Jim Weir
Hi. Some years ago I acquired a 26-note wooden key frame complete
with fingers. The frame is 16 inches long, with a pivot arm at each
end and a rod that I guess would be pulled up so that new cylinders can
be slid into place.
I got it from an organ builder who was owed money by the late Bruce
Devine. I had musical box work from Bruce Devine, finished but not
paid for. I thought maybe I could use this frame to force him to pay
up. No chance. I foolishly let the work go to Adrian Little who
collected it on Devine's behalf. Then the cheque bounced!
Assuming it still exists somewhere out there, there's a machine missing
its original key frame. Even if the machine no longer exists, or has
had a new frame made for it, someone must have a use for it. Whoever
wants it can have it free, all they need is to pay postage. A photo
is available.
