Seek Huge 6-cylinder Revolver Musical Box
By Jim Weir

One job I did was a huge 6-cylinder revolver box without a case.
By 'huge' I mean it took two people to lift it onto the workbench.
When it came here it could not work; amongst other things the tune
change gap was too small so inevitably the comb sets would be badly
damaged as the carousel turned to allow the next cylinder to play.
Perhaps it was made as a display piece.

Anyway, I made a mechanism that allowed the cylinders to contra-rotate
slightly as they came into alignment with the gap. Plus I did other
work. I've got several pages of workshop notes plus drawings showing
what was made and describing how it worked. I've even got a cassette
recording of the machine playing. I do not have photos of the machine
but, although faded, the workshop notes are readable. Is there anyone
out there who has this machine?
