Recently, Mikey Mills' posting on his new Wurlitzer 165 roll was
published in MMD. Here is the broader picture.
In collaboration with Play-Rite Music Rolls, we are pleased to
announce that new Wurlitzer 165 band organ rolls will again be
produced after an absence of more than one year. Two talented,
young arrangers are providing the arrangements: Mikey Mills and
Andy Park. Both are devotees and students of this genre, and we have
worked with them to ensure these rolls are of the highest musical
quality as well as Play-Rite's usual physical quality control.
Previous buyers of new 165 rolls in recent years should find this
music quite appealing!
Mikey's previous posting provided the details on his arranged roll,
6858. The other new roll, 6859, arranged by Andy Park has this list:
1. America Forever - March
2. I Don't Care - FT
3. A Banda - Bossa Nova
4. By the Light of the Silvery Moon - FT
5. Who's Afraid of the Big Bad Wolf - FT
6. España - W
7. The Night Has a Thousand Eyes - FT
8. Brand New Key - FT
9. You Ought to be In Pictures - FT
10. Blue Tango - FT
The correct price of these new rolls is $85 each plus shipping.
Mikey's arranged and produced rolls will be available through him
at his contact information provided in his posting. Andy Park's
rolls will be available through me. Most importantly, all proceeds
after expenses go to the arrangers. By purchasing these rolls, you
will have wonderful new music for your 165 instrument and you will
be supporting two talented arrangers in producing more.
Sample recordings of both these rolls played on a Wurlitzer 165 band
organ will shortly be available. I will provide that link as soon as
it is up.
There are also plans to produce more rolls from these arrangers over
time. Further, there is a library of unreleased music arranged by
the late Rich Olsen that will likely also be released. Wurlitzer band
organ style 150 rolls are also planned. Even new Wurlitzer Automatic
Player Piano (APP) music rolls are projected.
More information on all of this will appear on MMD over time. You may
also join a list that will provide much more detail on all present and
future releases as outlined above by writing to me and asking to be
placed on the Wurlitzer list.
