Steinway Upright Duo-Art Style "S"
By Allen Ford

Hi All, In response to Eliyahu Shahar's question about an "S"
Steinway [140421 MMDigest], I do know the smallest Steinway grand
piano is the model "S" or "S scale" which is 5' 1" long and with
a case modification for the Duo-Art would be about 5' 7-1/2" long.

I believe they started to make the model "S" in about 1935 or 1936
and so one could find a model "S" Duo-Art, but I have not heard of
one so can not attest to it's existence.

The upright pianos were the model "I" 54-1/4 inches, "N" 52 inches,
"K" 52 inches, and "V" 49 inches.
