Status of Organs Playing B.A.B. Music Rolls
By Jeff Alterman
I do wish to mention that the [66-key B.A.B.] rolls that were once
used on the 65-key Gebrüder Bruder "Elite Orchestra Apollo" organ
on the B&B Carousell still survive. There are two rolls (rolls #483
& 487) on display in a case at the B&B Carousell itself and they appear
to be intact enough to where they could probably be scanned so that
they could be played on the MIDI system on the organ.
It might be possible to play the rolls on the organ that are in the
best condition, since the roll frames apparently are still in place.
I would suggest that the rolls should be scanned and saved into MIDI
files so that the music could be played on the organ without the risk
of spoiling the rolls.
Anyone who is aware will notice that the former Savin Rock Gavioli
organ is playing the 66-key B.A.B. music that was scanned from the
rolls that the organ once played. The Gebrüder Bruder "Elite
Orchestra Apollo" would be able to play the MIDI files from the former
Savin Rock Gavioli organ since the former organ that I mentioned also
played 66-key B.A.B. rolls. This means that the MIDI files could be
obtained from the owner of the former Savin Rock Gavioli at the owner's
discretion and they can be played on the B&B Carousell's Gebrüder
Bruder "Elite Orchestra Apollo" organ.
