Instrument Moving Advice
By Peter Vander Veld

I agree that when moving a large instrument, such as a piano, it is
best to hire a piano mover - that is, a firm that specializes in moving
large instruments. Years ago I used a Philadelphia area piano mover to
haul a player piano from North Jersey back to my home near Philly. The
move was flawless. Days later a moving company representative showed
up to inspect the piano and repair any small scratches that may have
resulted from the move. There were very few marks and most of those
were already there.

It seems that a piano mover can move furniture but a furniture mover
may not be so able to successfully move a piano.
