I've been reading of Randolph's passing and it reminds me of the time
I visited him at his home. His collection was incredible. I was shown
record players I had no idea existed, with unusual "horns" for the music
to be amplified through.
One thing I wonder about, in reading all the wonderful comments people
have made about his pianola playing and the concerts he gave, is this:
what about future concerts? Usually there is a lot of planning
involved.
Did Randolph have any concerts planned? If so, has anyone in the world
of MMD stepped up to try and "fill in" for him? Has anyone contacted Bob
Berkman and asked if he would consider filling in for Randolph? Bob can
be contacted through the web site http://www.pianolaenterprises.com/
I hope everyone will remember Randolph often, when the chance arises,
and keep his spirit alive through conversation and stories.
