As Mills Violano Virtuosos are being restored, many are also including
a supplemental MIDI system to complement the playing of paper music
rolls. This really opens up the creative opportunities for us all
because new music can now be created for it and played as part of play
lists, without the limitations and expense of rolls.
In today's reality, any of us can develop new arrangements or
entirely new musical compositions and listen to them on our Violano
in an afternoon at home. Last Saturday, in honor of St. Patrick,
I arranged "Danny Boy" for our Mills VV and I wanted to share the
music with fellow MMDers. Watch and listen to it play at the
following YouTube link:

On some passages you can hear the violin play three simultaneous
notes on three different strings. This was my first arrangement to
successfully achieve three part violin harmony. This is amazing,
considering it is played on a four string violin!
The result is a regular MIDI file, specially arranged for Violano
Virtuosos that have their MIDI signals set to match the Mills VV
tracker bar, like on page 18 of the wonderful Kitner and Reblitz
book, "The Mills Violano Virtuoso".
Hope you enjoy the music!
