Vintage Self-Playing Musical Toys
By Jim Katz

I haven't read the thread on this but, if you are talking about
musical toys, one of the classiest is the "Gloggomobil" all-wood
peg-programmable manivelle cylinder musical movement by Naef Toys,
a very high-end Swiss company. You can Google the company and
its products. I think this one costs $1000.

The pegs push hammers to hit wooden xylophone bars. It is large
and lovely and really teaches the principles of the mechanical music
box well. After a few minutes playing with this thing even I could
probably understand basic mechanical music.
