The "Beatrice" Steinway Duo-Art
By Nicholas Simons

Leonardo Forti asks about a grand piano named Beatrice. I think he may
be referring to a Steinway Duo-Art grand once owned by Frank Holland
who ran the Musical Museum at Brentford in London. This museum still
operates but a few years ago moved a few yards down the road to a new
purpose-built building. Frank named this particular piano after its
once owner, The Princess Beatrice, who was the youngest daughter of
Queen Victoria. To my knowledge, this piano still resides in the
museum.
