Seek Help Identifying Unknown "A" Rolls
By Rod Rogers

I have three style "A" coin piano rolls that had the leader and
label torn off; the entire first song is missing from one. I recently
spliced on new leaders and played them. I know a couple of the songs,
but am at a loss on the others. If you feel up to a "Name That Tune"
challenge, I would certainly appreciate identifying these songs and
maybe even the rolls.

The first song on roll 1 is completely destroyed and missing. I know
song 3 as "Bringing Home a Bumble Bee". Is there another title for it?
Lots of these novelty songs were based on classical music. Song 6 is
"Turkey in the Straw."

Roll 2, song 9, seems to be "It Had To Be You". I don't know any of
the songs on Roll 3.

Hopefully with the songs identified, we can go one step further and
determine the roll brand and catalog number. They aren't great, and
some of the arrangements leave a lot to be desired, but it's worth a
shot! Audio (*.wav) files of the songs are at

You can email results, or better yet post here in case others are
curious. I hope some of you have a little fun with this!
