Okay, folks, you're off the hook. About 10 days ago I wrote about
the five characters of the Disney Christmas band. Well, you'll be
happy to learn that this morning I found the whole band in separate
packages under the Christmas tree with my name on them.
Kathay did, in fact, spring for the whole set. This is amazing in
itself because she has recently been on a binge of "No, we don't
need any more stuff!" I suspect that it was counteracted by a bit
of "What can I get for someone who already has much too much stuff."
Although the instructions say that the wireless figures should be
placed within three feet of each other, I found that they work up to
about 20 feet. Placed on tables and shelves around the living room,
they make a very nice surround-sound show. Each character plays a
different instrument, with one character playing the lead and each of
the others playing a different part on a different instrument, not
just the same notes as the leader.
By the way, according to the lady at the Hallmark store, the "Peanuts
Band" was actually two years ago and they sold like wildfire. Last
year they did angels and they weren't very popular. So, save your
money until next year. I have my eye on a wind-up mechanical boy who
actually writes and draws pictures.
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays from Western New York to MMD friends
all around the world, and to the folks who bring this gift to us all
every day.
