Silicone Spray Treatment on Pouch Leather
By Tom DeLay

I do not know about silicone spray on paper, but I can tell you that
any of that stuff sprayed on pouch leather will shorten the life of
the leather by decades.

I have come across thin tan pneumatic leather that was "painted" with
silicone treatment. As the leather rotted after 10 years, you could
clearly see the brush marks where the stuff was applied.

How paper would react I have no idea, but I would not try it on any of
my oldest rolls.
