Hello, the article by Bob Berkman has prompted me to ask if Q.R.S.
still ever re-produce any of the many Duo-Art rolls I believe they
once had in their catalogue? I have a few 1920s and '30s tunes on
older Q.R.S. rolls, bought second-hand, but I'm sure there were many
others available at one time. Is there any chance?
I am also looking for a specific Duo-art roll, a playable or
restorable original or a re-cut, of a medley played by Frank Milne,
no. 74716 I believe, featuring "Under a Blanket of Blue", "Lying in
the Hay", "Isn't This the Night for Love", "Cabin in the Pines" and
"I Cover the Waterfront".
In many ways there is nothing special about this roll other than the
fact that hearing it was what first started my interest in player
pianos, then reproducing ones, so I hold it in great affection, but
I have been unable to obtain a copy so far. I'm in the UK, but would
pay postage from the States or elsewhere if one was available.
Best wishes to all enthusiasts for the festive season.
