Airtight Bellows
By Duaine Hechler

Some months ago I bought from Schaff "Nylon sheeting coated with
polyurethane" and tested in on a pair of bellows flaps on my melodeon
project. Using a strip of regular flap leather, then strategically
gluing the above nylon sheeting to the flap, and tacking the flap into
place as normal, I found it fantastically airtight.

A yard 60" wide is only $10.50. So why couldn't one do the same thing
with bellows cloth for the reservoirs and exhausters, maybe even going
from heavy bellows cloth to medium bellows cloth?

I know the old timers will poo-poo the idea. But I think it would be
better than taking a chance that the bellows cloth may have tiny leaks.

For the progressive thinkers, what do you say ?
