Wurlitzer Band Organ Problem
By Matthew Caulfield

With regard to Kevin Mayes' posting in yesterday's MMD about his
Wurlitzer 125 band organ that will play only one or two notes at a
time, it doesn't sound like a lack of vacuum if the snare drum is
playing well. Kevin doesn't say, but I wonder whether the vacuum
reservoir is collapsed as much as it has been in the past. That would
indicate whether the vacuum pumps are delivering or whether there is a
vacuum leak in the system.

As for a Wurlitzer service manual, Wurlitzer never made any, because
they expected you to come to them or use one of their route men for
service. The nearest thing to a service manual is something like Art
Reblitz's book on player piano servicing and rebuilding.
