Bob Hodge offered information for obtaining a tool to splice round
leather belts, and I'm sure it's worth its price. There's another
solution, if you're not intent on keeping your instrument perfectly
original.
I restored my Aeolian Grand organ a couple years ago, and it of course
needed a belt. I believe it was Stuart McCaskill who suggested that
I find a shop that repairs film projectors, and buy some appropriate
size film reel drive spring belting. It's actually a metal spring that
you can cut to length and splice for your own application. It lasts
forever.
I'll email photos to all interested parties, and answer anybody's
questions.
