Regarding David Fowler's post on removing mold from pipes, we had
a problem with mold growing on every surface in our drama theatre,
including wooden surfaces, seating and curtains. The professional
contractor sprayed white vinegar onto every surface which killed the
mold. I've tried it at home in the bathroom and the results lasted
at least 12 months.
My only concern using vinegar in a player piano is the effect on
pneumatics and French polish. You could try a small test area out
of sight, and on some scrap material to see if there is any long-term
reaction. They normally don't remove the vinegar after treatment.
