Firstly, thanks to all MMD subscribers that helped me in my
quest for an Ampico roll of "Home in Pasadena", now accomplished
-- thanks, Ed Gaida! I am now trying to find out some history of
my Ampico piano which I purchased from that side of the "Pond" about
six months ago. It is a Knabe Ampico B dated 1930, 5 ft. 4 in.,
in a walnut art case. The serial number is difficult to read but
looks like 107316.
I purchased it from A440 Pianos in Atlanta, Georgia, and I believe
it could be a piano local to him. The owner of the music shop had
no information as he bought it after the previous owner had died so
history had died with him. Advertised on eBay, it was, I believe,
restored in approx. 2008 and the workmanship is excellent. Any
information about its earlier life and possible restorer would be
gratefully received.
Regards from the UK,
Mike Nicholls
