I am offering for sale a complete set of the 3 volumes of Dave
Junchen's "Encyclopedia of the American Theater Organ." Each volume
contains extensive descriptions of instruments, including opus lists,
copious illustrations, and other indispensable historical materials.
I acquired these books from the estate of the late Bill Barry,
a Chicago area theater organ enthusiast. I had brokered the sale of
his basement Wurlitzer.
The dust covers show some wear at the edges and corners with a few
small tears. The three books themselves are in excellent condition
-- like new, as far as I can see. On the inside back cover of Vol. 1
is written (in pencil, I think), "From Barbara December 25th, 1985".
On the inside back cover of Vol. 2 is written, "B. Barry January 1990"
(in ink). At the top of the inside back cover of Vol. 3 is written
"1-9-96" (pencil?). All the writing is on the small side. I suspect
the pencil writings can be carefully erased.
The books include much information about the player instruments built
by such builders as Estey, Möller, Austin, Welte, etc. Vol. 3 is a
remarkable history of Wurlitzer.
These books are of the highest quality but have been long out of print.
I am offering the set for $700.00 and I will pay shipping to US
locations.
Thanks,
Dave Krall
