Carousel Music Only During Rides or Continuous
By Dave Bowers
Many of the carousels I've ridden on years ago played the organ
only when in motion, perhaps so that helpers could assist kids getting
on horses, instructions could be given on a speaker beforehand, et
cetera. Others would do this plus some music now and again during
quiet times if there was not a line waiting.
Clarks Trading Post in New Hampshire plays a Tangley CA-43 calliope
alternating with an Artizan band organ before train rides, to draw
customers, and sometimes at other intervals, but never when a trained
bear show or circus act is being given. It is a rather small park,
except for the railroad line extension.
Thanks for all you do.
