Nickelodeons Made in Las Vegas & New Zealand
By John Vallings
Ken Marts might be interested to know that I have a circa 1920
nickelodeon for repair exactly as he describes [130223 MMDigest], but
I understand the instrument was made up in New Zealand. Probably parts
were obtained to make all this happen. The case has been a pianola at
one time, with ornate lead light glass both top and bottom and a small
door below the keys for pianola adjustments. The case has number 10497
but I do not know the maker; [it's] a typical USA-made piano. This
plays type "O" rolls, the test roll was made in Nevada.
Hope this helps.
