Nickelodeons Made in Las Vegas
By Ken Marts

Hello Everyone, I have two upright piano size "nickelodeons" in my
shop for repair. One is a 1986 Sojin Muzette 50-inch high polish
piano, the other is a 1920s Story and Clark upright. Both cases have
been rebuilt in the front to accommodate the player mechanism. Both
have very pretty leaded glass in the front (top and bottom) and both
have the same components: bass drum, snare drum, cymbal, xylophone,
wood block, tambourine.

Considering the similarities, perhaps both even came from the same
after-market manufacturer. At one point someone said they might
have originated in Las Vegas, Nevada, but I'm still not sure of that.
I have not yet investigated the tracker bar tubing configuration but
I suspect that the rolls are "A" rolls. Does anyone have any
information on these pianos?

Thanks,
Ken Marts
