The COAA's Mid-Winter meeting will be held in Bradenton-Sarasota,
Florida, on March 15th to 17th. We are participating in the Heritage
Days Open House at the Manatee Village Historical Park on Saturday,
March 16th followed by a dinner meeting with an excellent talk by
historian Fred Dalhlinger. The topic of the talk with be "Vienna:
Organ Wonderland."
The following Sunday we have a special group tour of the Ringling
Museum where we will see the fabulous Museum of Art, the "Ca' d'Zan"
(Ringling winter residence) and the Circus Museum where we will have
a special guided tour by Howard Tibbals, who has constructed (and
is still constructing) the largest miniature circus in the world.
Those who wish may bring their small organs and play both Saturday
and Sunday at these events. Of course there are the other Gulf Coast
wonders to stop in and see including the South Florida Museum, the
Mote Aquarium, Sarasota Jungle Gardens and of course, the beaches.
Rooms are available at the Ramada Waterfront Sarasota at $99.00 per
night (normal season rate is $130). Cut-off date at the motel is
March 1st. Registration for the meeting is $40.00 each which includes
a dinner and entrance to the Ringling Museum and a guided tour of
