A Possible Touch Weight Solution
By John Del Carlo

Regarding the subject of touch weight and player pianos: a few years
ago I read about a device that specifically targets the touch weight
issue, and it could be installed in any piano, including player pianos.
It is called "Touchrail" and can be found here:
	http://pitchlock.com/touchrail-for-tech

After contacting the inventor, I ordered one for my 1930 Weber FR Duo-
Art. I can say that it was very easy to install, and it allowed my
rebuilder to dial in the precise touch weight for every key. Even
though my Duo-Art system is not working properly yet, the Touchrail has
taken care of any touch-weight issues, and it feels great to play it
manually. This is a very good solution to the problem, and is cost
effective as well.

As soon as I get the Duo-Art running properly, I will make a few
recordings, so you can hear it in action. As I recall, the inventor
sold one to an Ampico collector, and he was very happy with the
results, specifically in regards to repetition.
