Small Roll Punch Made From Electric Nailer

Every once in a while I visit the forum associated with the Dutch team
which produces MIDIBoek and Noteur software. I don't read Dutch very
well, but sometimes the photos or drawings pretty much tell the story.
Take a look at "Simpele kapmachine voor papierrollen" ("Simple Punching

It describes a 20-note punch made from an inexpensive electric nailer
or tacker. The text describes using a template printed with MIDIBoek
software to produce standard 20er 110 mm paper rolls. Most of the
custom-made bits are of wood or aluminum. A clever design feature is
indexing the punch back and forth on top of the table instead of
shifting the paper. That makes for a more solid paper-guide design in
an easily stored table-top unit.
Our Dutch friends have been discussing "Lasersnijder," laser cutting of
rolls. But it does not appear that they have decided this technique is
priced at hobby levels yet. That thread is at
