Book Music Organ at Bavarian Gardens, Gettysburg
By Wilbur Herr
"The Bavarian Gardens" German pub, located in International Village,
Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, closed its doors in the late 1980s. In the
center of the pub was an organ or orchestrion that played book music.
Six to twelve books that appear to be in good condition were left at
the pub. The present owner of these books would like pass these books
on to the present owner of the organ if the organ or owner can be
located. The book music indicates an organ of 65 to 68 keys.
Does anyone know the name or whereabouts of a book-music operated organ
or orchestrion that was located in this public facility in the 1980s?
We believe the German pub closed in 1987 and the organ was sold.
