JAZZ CLASSICS piano rolls are back after more than 30 years! I have
four rolls now ready to ship and more are coming. All rolls were
perforated by Sierra Music Rolls and are exact copies of the original
rolls. Only seven copies of each were done so they are very limited.
Price is $25.00 each, postpaid.
MeloArt 1330 "Graveyard Love", played by "Lee Jackson", composed by
Tom Delaney. This roll plays for nearly four minutes; many MeloArt
rolls are short. It is an outstanding performance and has only been
recut once.
USM 43815 "29th and Dearborn - Blues", composed by Thomas A. Dorsey
and played by J. Lawrence Cook (as "Jack Pierce"), a very rare roll.
This tune is actually "Riverside Blues" reworked into a more low-down
style. "29th and Dearborn" was probably his address. This is one of
Cook's best performances in my opinion. Never before recut.
USM 45040 "Doggin' Me Mama Blues", played by J. L. Cook (as Fred
Parsons) and composed by Blind Blake. Copyrighted by Chicago Music
Publishing late 1928, roll issued 1-1929. This roll was recut before
only as a short run, I believe.
VCL 13698 "Shake That Thing", played by Edgar Hayes and composed by
'Papa' Charlie Jackson. This roll has never been recut.
These are all late, hard-to-come-by piano rolls. They are packaged
with old style Jazz Classics labels on one end and original style
labels on the other. I will sell sets of four for $90.00 postpaid.
