What a shame about the vanishing withdrawn library books that Joyce
Brite wrote about in yesterday's MMD. Here in Bournemouth we have an
excellent library service and the town-center library has a large music
library within it. Withdrawn books and music are always put there on
sale at modest prices, and the money raised goes towards funding the
service, which is run by the town council. People can also donate
unwanted book, etc., to be put on sale.
It strikes me that Ms. Brite's library should be encouraged to do the
same thing. After all, we are supposed to be in a world recession and
we should be encouraged to recycle unwanted goods, even if they may be
a little worn!
