Bypassing Ampico Automatic On/Off Control
By Tom Gregory

Greetings: For the past few months I have had difficulties with our
1920's Marshall & Wendell upright. The piano and player were restored
several years ago by professionals in Colorado.

All is fine except I am unable to make the treble play as softly as
the bass. I believe I have traced the problem to the Automatic On/Off
control located behind the spool box.

I only have Ampico rolls and would like to disconnect this mechanism.
Is this difficult? Are instructions available?

Thanks in advance.
