Recut Word Rolls from Keystone Music Rolls
By Mike Walter

Hi all, Glenn Thomas was recently commenting about the lack of
lyrics printed on piano rolls, the exception being Richard Groman's
recent issue of 88-note roll titles. I agree with Glenn Thomas that
Richard's recent collection of 88-note titles is super and the words
make the rolls more enjoyable.

But, I do have to disagree with Glenn's statement concerning the
last issuance of word printed rolls. QRS has been printing words
on rolls since time immemorial (or at least somewhere around 1910)
and is still producing new copies of old roll titles even today.

As production manager and stencil machine operator at QRS from 2006
to 2008, I still have that stencil ink under my fingernails! :-)

Best wishes,
Mike Walter
