Unknown Tunes on Wurlitzer APP Roll 750
By Paul Baker

When I initially listened to the MP3 audio files of Jack Conway's
Wurlitzer BX orchestrion, two or three of the tunes on APP Roll
No. 750 were familiar inasmuch as I have heard them before somewhere
or other, but of course pinning down exactly where is not always
straightforward.

However, I'm sure Jack will be pleased to know that I have managed
to identify one tune on his roll 750: tune 750-5 is "Eat and Grow
Thin". I have it included in a piano roll medley, Universal 303007
"A-Head-Liner" One Step Medley, arranged by Edwin E. Wilson. It is
credited on the label as tune 5.

I have done a quick search on Google but cannot find anything on
this particular song. It should not be confused with another song of
similar title, "Cheer Up! Eat and Grow Thin" [by E. Ray Goetz], which
was recorded in 1916 on Victor by vaudeville artiste Nora Bayes.
Well, one out of five is better than none!

Regards from England,
Paul Baker

[ Thanks, Paul. I found "Eat and Grow Thin", by Albert Von Tilzer,
