My father, Howard Sander, passed away a couple of years ago and we are
now starting to devise our plan for the many antiques that he collected
over the years -- what to keep, what to sell, etc.
One thing that he loved was player pianos. As a teenager I helped him
rebuild several of these, one of which was a Coinola. I think it is
a model AF. At least the cabinet and stain glass front matches the
pictures on the old advertising material. It has pipes and mandolin.
The roll paper winds at the rear so I am assuming that it plays Style
"O" rolls.
We did a partial rebuild on this about 45 years ago. This included the
stack, most of the tubing and many of the control bellows, etc. Today
it tries to play, but doesn't quite get there. The case is in beautiful
condition, including the stained glass which appears to be 100% original
and perfect. There are no chips on the ivories. The serial number is
165526.
I'd love to get some idea as to the value of this piano, both as-is
and if I worked on it enough to get it into a fully operable condition.
If pictures would help, I'd be happy to send them. Thanks for any help
you can provide.
