Animated Keys of an Upright Pianola
By Steve Bentley
In 1981 I bought a "Winter & Co." player piano made 1918. This
piano had a 'key lock' and the keys were locked when I first saw it.
Five of the white keys had been broken -- split around the pivot point
-- by someone that must have been trying to get some sound out of the
piano. It was easy to repair with the 'yellow' carpenters glue.
