I don't know what people have against zephyr skin, but so many seem to
feel it necessary to replace zephyr skin with tan pouch leather, when
redoing valve work. The complaint is that zephyr skin is subject to
attack by bugs or worms, but how quickly does that happen?
Zephyr skin and leather have different properties, and certainly any
leather used as zephyr skin replacement needs to be sealed to the same
tightness that zephyr has naturally. That should cure the bleed hole
problem, but how much does the sealant add to the weight and [hence]
unresponsiveness of the leather?
