The past few weeks I have been going through my rolls and I started
to pay attention to the tabs on the rolls. I found it interesting
that the dealers placed their name and addresses on some roll tabs
while others were just plain -- just another interesting way to
gather information on dealers and their addresses. On a "G" roll
by Automatic Music Roll Co., G. H. Leathurby Co also stamped their
information over the 1510 Dayton Street address on the label.
So that leads me to inquire about the roll distribution across the
country. Would a dealer in an area or town buy just one copy of
a roll for the coin-op machines to have "exclusive" music in an
establishment? It would be interesting to know if a roll was available
all across the USA or would they have been different in the various
regions of the country.
Back to playing another tune...
