"Jazz Classics" & "Hollywood Vintage Series"
By Jim Spriggs

Hi, I recently bought several excellent standard 88-note piano jazz
rolls on eBay, labelled 'Jazz Classics' and 'Hollywood Vintage Series'.
They appear to be relatively recent recuts. Can anyone tell me, please,
where and by whom they were made, and any other history? Thanks!

Jim Spriggs
York, UK

[ According to the "Hot Recut Piano-Rollography" by Richard L. Riley
[ (1989), about 350 recut piano rolls were issued on the "Hollywood
[ Vintage Series" label by "Hollywood Player Roll Co.", which was
[ operated by Steve Nielsen and Don Rand beginning in 1971. About
[ 450 "Jazz Classics" titles were produced by Richard L. Riley from
 [ 1970 to 1980. -- Robbie
