The First Nickelodeon
By Scotty Greene

Last week Time Magazine had a listing of influential events in
history, and they list the first nickelodeon as playing in 1905
in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. I expected an earlier date.

Perhaps this hinges on the definition of "nickelodeon." Does
anyone have any authoritative information on this subject?

Scotty Greene - DeBence Antique Music World

[ Wasn't the "nickelodeon" originally a cinema theatre ("odeon")
[ where the admission price was a 5-cent coin of nickel? So
[ what is the first coin-operated mechanical music instrument?
