Celebrate National Player Piano Week April 2-9
By John Rutoskey
National Player Piano Week, which is April 2-9, was not a fictitious
event created by Harvey Roehl; it was a very genuine observation in
the 1920s and many piano dealers of the time took full advantage of it
in their spring advertising.
A simple search on Google for "national player piano week" brings up
many wonderful old newspaper ads scanned by Google, at least one even
incorporating the exact image pictured in "Player Piano Treasury"
featuring our nation's capitol, which Harvey reproduced for his bumper
stickers which he sold in the 1970s.
Who would have thought 90 years later that National Player Piano Week
would still be alive and well!
