Hi Everyone! From time to time I've seen people ask about,
and I've needed myself, someone to transport instruments to
different parts of the country. I've just had a wonderfully
easy experience with a transporter and I wanted to share it with
everyone.
I needed a 15" Regina Changer transported from central New York
to the Midwest. The buyer arranged the transport.
The men called days ahead of time to make the arrangements with me,
then called again asking if they could come earlier because of a
schedule change, and they arrived _on time!_ I pre-packed the
inside of the changer and taped the glass. They wrapped it head
to toe in a packing pad, put thick cardboard over the glass and
mummified it in pallet wrap.
It was loaded into their truck and off they went, but not before
I quizzed them about their business. Seems they specialize in
transporting our type of instruments, large and small. They can
also arrange packing and transport to different countries --
they're a veritable one-stop shop!
After such a pleasant meeting, I called another customer who needed
a large Regina transported from my place to his, down south. He'd
tried a few different transporters but no one wanted to come up here
for just one 'smaller' machine. I gave my customer this guy's phone
number and within half an hour he was calling me back telling me he'd
arranged transport and at a _very_ reasonable price (cheaper than
I could pack and ship it to him myself)!
The name of my now-favorite transporter is Ron Brewer, his company is
"Third Party Service", out of Ohio. His phone is 1-419-356-0403.
I'm sorry if this is redundant with previous transporter
recommendations, but after such a great, hassle-free experience I don't
think repetition is a bad thing! :) Enjoy!
