I have recently acquired a Kimball organ player with number of rolls
that all date from the 1915 time frame. The rolls measure 11-1/4
inches wide and are 9 punches to the inch. The tracker bar has 96
holes, one is shutter open while 96 is shutter close, while 2, 3 and
4 are pistons as are 93, 94 and 95, or 95 is perhaps rewind and 94
is General Cancel. The uses of the rest of the holes are unknown.
Can anyone supply a correct scale for this player and rolls? All of
the rolls say "Organ Soloist Music, W.W. Kimball" plus the title of
the music.
The Kimball organ scales as shown in the book, "Treasures of Mechanical
Music," by Arthur A. Reblitz and Q. David Bowers, seem to be quite
different from the rolls and player that I have. Any help will be
greatly appreciated!
