Replacement Motor for Duo-Art "Steamboat" Pump
By Bill Chapman

I was given a great old upright Weber Duo-Art (1917) with its original
Edison light bulb still working! The 6-chamber vacuum pump is missing
its motor. I can substitute an Ampico 1150 rpm motor, but it may not
have enough power and may not be the correct speed. Mounting it is
another challenge; only a few scraps of the mounting block are there.

Does anyone have an original Weber from 1917 that may know the motors
speed and horse power? I am grateful for any information that anyone
might have.

Aside, I was also given a motor made by Electric Specialty Co, Stamford,
Conn., 110 Volt 1/4 HP 1150 rpm, with no obvious mounting structure.
Curiously, the rotor contains no wires and is simply a series of what
appears to be sandwiched flat disks. I am tempted to have it repaired
and attempt to mount it.
