Hi MMD, I'm the archivist for AMICA and as such I receive all of the
overage and surplus bulletins. I have several thousand of these past
bulletins and they are becoming a major storage problem. It would be
a terrible shame to send all of these bulletins to the recycle center.
They still contain a wealth of information and have the potential to
interest someone's interest in mechanical music.
On a personal level, I take a number of these to the local VA hospital
each time I go in for an appointment. I distribute them around to the
various departments in the waiting areas and I note that the next time
I go in they are quite worn or gone.
I'm not in a position to ship these bulletins but there is a viable
alternative. I live in the center of the US, just 11 miles north of
I70 and one mile off US 63 which goes north to south through the center
of the USA. My suggestion is that for anyone traveling from east to
west or north or south through this area, that they stop by and I will
give them a box of AMICA Bulletins to distribute as they see fit.
There is always an ongoing discussion of how do we get new folks into
the hobby and this is certainly a means of doing so at virtually no
cost. These bulletins are already paid for and represent the mother
load of free advertising! If any one is interested let me know and
I will send them directions on how to find me.
Regards,
Tom Hutchinson
