Operating the Ampico A Grand Piano
By Paul Meehan

[ Darryl Zempel asked, "What is the correct sequence of events
[ to play a roll on an Ampico A grand?"

I feel well qualified to answer that question as I repeat that process
several times per week.

[ Play/Reroll switch should be in "Reroll" position. ]

1. Insert roll and attach roll leader to take up spool.

2. Advance roll slightly until the Tempo is displayed on the roll.

3. Set the Tempo as desired.

4. Slide Play/Reroll switch to "Play" (to the left) and hold in place.

5. Slide the On/Off switch to "On" (to the left) and continue to hold
it until the vacuum holds it in place.

6. Dance about for a short time.

7. Go help the kids get dressed.

8. Eat breakfast...

Oops, I'm adding a few extra steps!

You can also set the "Repeat" and "Ampico" switches as desired at any
time. Mine is a baby grand but I'm guessing the steps are the same.
